Terms of Service
Last updated November 6, 2026
1. The service
Secondpass Audio ("Secondpass", "we") provides software that compares audiobook narration to its script, checks audio against a spec, and helps you review the results. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
2. Your account
You're responsible for your account, your team members and what happens under your login. Keep your password private. If you sign up for an organization, you confirm that you can accept these terms for it.
3. Your content
You keep all rights to what you upload. You give us permission to process it only to provide the service. You confirm that you have the right to upload it, including under any publishing, embargo or confidentiality agreement. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle it and how long we keep it.
4. Results need human review
Secondpass flags likely problems using automated tools. It can miss real errors and flag things that are fine. You decide what to keep, and you're responsible for the final audiobook.
5. Fees
The service is priced per finished hour of audio. The price is shown before a run starts, or set in your agreement with us. Chapters that fail to process aren't charged.
Your first book is free, up to 12 hours, once per person or company.
6. If we miss an error
If a paid proof misses a real narration error and a publisher or retailer requires it to be fixed, tell us within 30 days of finding it. We'll cover your reasonable, documented cost of the fix, or refund that book if the problem can't be resolved that way. The total we pay for a book will never be more than the fees you paid for that book. This section is your only remedy for missed errors.
7. Acceptable use
Don't upload anything you don't have the right to use, or anything illegal. Don't try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service, make extra accounts to get more free books, or access anyone else's data.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Secondpass running, but we don't promise it'll be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change the service or these terms, and we'll tell account owners about meaningful changes. Stored audio is deleted on the schedule in our Privacy Policy, so keep your own copies.
9. Warranties and liability
Except as stated in section 6, the service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or delayed releases, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before it arose.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using Secondpass at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Fees for completed runs stay due.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
